Fall MinistriesWelcome to Fall 2024 at HBC
We are so excited about the upcoming fall opportunities at Heritage. Our prayer is that each class, program, or group that meets this fall will grow in a deeper knowledge of who Christ is, what He has done, and how we can live for Him among our community and the nations.
We also want to encourage each family to be intentional with their time and involvement. While we long to see families grow in their love and service of Jesus we also know that doesn’t always happen inside the walls of the church. Therefore, as you consider your involvement this fall – pray for wisdom, be intentional with your decisions, and commit to go deeper with Christ and His church.

Membership Class
Disciple-Making Teams
Are you interested in learning more about Disciple-Making Teams and what the 10-week training looks like? Join us in the Refinery room (in the youth area) for a brief informational gathering on Sunday, August 25 at 12 PM to learn more and to prayerfully plan to participate in a future disciple-making team. Women's Bible Study
Join us this fall as we study the Gospel of Mark, seeking to answer the question that Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” As we read this action packed, fast-paced gospel, we’ll discover that He is indeed the Son of God, who came as a suffering servant to give His life for us and to show us how to live. A variety of times and locations will be offered throughout the week beginning the 3rd week of September. The cost is $12. Free childcare is offered for the Tuesday Morning groups that meet at church but your child must be registered. Click here to register today!

Scripture Memory Groups
Scripture memorization is a great way to meditate on God’s Word. It also gives you the truth as a weapon to combat the lies of the enemy. Scripture memorization isn’t always easy – it takes time and intentionality. Joining a scripture memory group is a great way to have encouragement and accountability to stick with it.
Short Term Ministry Trips
Short-Term Ministry Trips provide opportunities for our members to better grasp God’s heart for the nations and come alongside our Global Workers in care, support, and understanding. Click here to check out more information on our upcoming STMTs to DC, North Africa, Japan, and South Asia.

Young at Heart
Our senior adult ministry, Young at Heart, seeks to empower seniors to embrace what God invites them to be and do for their joy in Jesus Christ. Check out their webpage for details on their monthly gathering, day trips, and other events!
L.Y.D.I.A.
L.Y.D.I.A., Living Your Days in Abundance, is a group for widows and senior single women who seek a deeper relationship with God, a meaningful relationship with each other, and an impactful relationship with the community. Click here for more details on meeting times!
Worship Choir Begins Soon!
Worship Choir rehearsals will begin on on Wednesday, August 21! We would love for new members to join the choir including LU students who would like CSER credit. Please contact music@hbclynchburg.com for more information!
Student Worship Helpers Needed
The Student Worship Ministry is looking for college students who would like to serve regularly as instrumentalists, vocalists, and on the tech team. CSER credit is available. Contact Darby at dfbonham@hbclynchburg.com for more information.
Tech Team Open House
ANYONE is invited on September 8 at 6PM for a Tech Team Open House! You will get the opportunity to look at the equipment and learn how to run it in a no pressure environment. This is a great place for parents to invite their kids to just take a look at this ministry opportunity. No pressure, come and see if this area might be a good place to get plugged in! Men's Breakfast
Join the Men of Heritage on Saturday, September 14th, 8:00-10:00 AM in the International Plaza as we gather for a time of encouraging fellowship and as we are challenged from God’s Word over breakfast. This will be a time to explore the responsibility of men to lead faithfully in the home, in the church, at work–wherever God has placed men according to His sovereign pleasure. The cost is just $5. Focused on Christ Event
In November we will drop the 100th episode of the Focused on Christ podcast and we want to invite you to the celebration!
On October 23rd at 6:30 pm in the Chapel we will record our 100th episode in front of a “live studio audience” and we’d love for many of you to be part of the fun. The evening will include the live recording, show updates and testimonies, prayer for the future impact of this online ministry, and more. Wednesday Night Gathering
Join us in the chapel for a weekly time of prayer and study. Every week includes practical teachings that will help you apply scripture to everyday life.
Awana | 2 yrs - 6th Grade
Awana is an exciting club ministry that focuses on memorizing Bible verses, along with a special devotional and game time each week.
Youth Group | 7th-12th Grade
Join us in the Youth Rooms Wednesday nights at 6:45 PM for a time of learning from God’s Word and growing with a small group. We also offer the Word of Life program.
"The Journey Begins" Step Studies
Have you tried everything to control your struggling world with no success? Have you just about tried everything to find happiness and peace? Then you are in the right place! Sign up for this transforming, healing study called “The Journey Begins” offered by Celebrate Recovery. It’s a confidential and welcoming place where we can find God’s healing power through the Eight Recovery Principles based on the Beatitudes and the Christ-centered Twelve Steps. This study will begin Wednesday, August 21 at 6:45 PM. Men will meet in the United Kingdom and women will meet in Algeria and Libya. Email celebraterecovery@hbclynchburg.com if you are interested.
