Register Your Kids for VBS!

This summer your kids ages 4-5th grade are invited to be part of the exciting experience of following the footsteps of Jesus through Jerusalem from his entry into Jerusalem to his victorious resurrection. They’ll have an amazing time trying out new first century crafts, games, songs, and more! Each day concludes with a Celebration that gets everyone involved in discovering that we can walk with Jesus today because he lives today. This VBS will run June 5–9 on the HBC campus from 5:45 PM–8:45 PM. Summer Serving Needs

We are looking for teens and adults to make a short term commitment to Kids Ministry for the summer to serve on a regular rotation twice a month or as subs once a month.

  • Opportunities across all areas: nursery, preschool, elementary Sunday School, Blast Zone, and Wednesday night ministry.

  • The biggest needs are in nursery and preschool.

  • Opportunities for both helpers and teachers.

  • We will provide training and development for those interested in teaching or leadership roles.

If you are interested, you can apply on the HBC volunteer page or contact Chelsea Barnwell at chelsea@hbclynchburg.com. Also, check out the Alongside Podcast about the volunteer development process.

Ep. 26: Song of Solomon

Song of Solomon is a very detailed love poem in the Bible that many adults ignore and kids read through and snicker. What does this beautiful story of courtship and marriage have to do with Christ? Is this book of the Bible just a manual for intimacy or is it something more? In this episode, Pastors Nathan and Mike talk candidly about this often misunderstood book of the Bible.

Journey to Financial Freedom

Journey to Financial Freedom is designed to provide biblical and additional practical help with personal finances. This is during the same timeslot as the Wednesday Night Gathering (6:45 – 8 PM). The course will be an integration of:
– portions of Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University (FPU)
– teaching on emotional spending from Know Yourself, Know Your Money (because usually, overspending is not from the inability to do the math, rather it is emotionally tied)
– components of Ron Blue Institute for Financial Planning
– HBC plus other contributors
This course will run from June 14 – August 2 in the Egypt room on HBC campus and is at no cost. Register here today!
