Worship Ministries

Welcome to Worship Ministries at Heritage Baptist Church.

Philosophy of Worship

We design our times of corporate singing to be infused with Scripture reading and prayer so that Christ is the focus. The music utilized at Heritage is a modern mix of new and old songs and hymns typically accompanied by a full rhythm section and string players, led by male and female worship leaders, a worship team, and worship choir. The primary emphasis is on congregational participation in singing rather than performance.

The Worship Ministry of Heritage Baptist Church encompasses all age groups. Beyond what happens in the main services, our instrumentalists and vocalists lead in Kids Ministry, Student Ministry, and Converge college ministry. In each environment, we seek to exalt Christ through music.

Ways to Participate

The best way for vocalists to begin participating in the Worship Ministry is by join the Worship Choir. The Worship Choir rehearses each Wednesday evening from 6:45-8:00pm and sings most weeks in both services seasonally (mid-August through mid-May). Other vocal opportunities are available, but participation in the Worship Choir is the first step toward all vocal opportunities. No audition is necessary. For more information or for an application, please email music@hbclynchburg.com.
For those who play an instrument, there are a number of ways to serve. Our main services utilize a rhythm section (piano, auxiliary keys, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums) and a string sectional (violin, viola, cello, string bass). Instrumentalists are also utilized in Kids Ministry, Student Ministry, and Converge college ministry. An audition via video submission is required. For more information or for an application, please email music@hbclynchburg.com.
If you would like to get involved on our production team (audio, lighting, and video), there are many opportunities both in the main worship services and in Kids Ministry, Student Ministry and Converge college ministry. For more information, please email music@hbclynchburg.com.
We are pleased to welcome college students seeking Christian Service credit (CSER) and students looking to complete their academic practicum. Some serving opportunities have limited opportunities available. For students seeking a practicum, priority will be given to current Worship Ministry participants. For more information or for an application, please email music@hbclynchburg.com.
