Youth Tomorrow Night //6:45 PM in the Sr High Room

For the lesson this Wednesday night, Pastor Kent will be picking up the second part of our series in Daniel, specifically looking at the necessity of standing together in community as we face spiritual and cultural challenges to our faith. We are going to be looking at Daniel and his friends, the steadfastness within the group to walk after the things of Yahweh in the midst of the Babylonian culture, and the modern-day impact of friends and friend choices as it pertains to our spiritual journey. We will be primarily in Daniel 2, in case you wanted to read ahead.
Here are some questions for small groups you could ask:
  • How do you think Daniel’s friends saw Daniel? (Were they jealous of his attention, envious of his position, or thankful for his influence in their lives? Some of this is reading between the lines, but it is important for our teens to consider that God doesn’t use us all the same, and that’s okay).
  • How are we to interact with the world without adopting the ways of the world? How can we be intentionally on mission without losing our “salt and light”?
  • Why are godly friends important? What are some qualities you look for in godly friends?
  • Why does God give friendship?
