A Summer of Prayer

How to Pray for Heritage This Summer…

WOL Youth Camp

Please be in prayer for our 60 teens going to Word of Life camp June 20-27. Join us in praying for:

  • Protection and safety
  • Spiritual growth – open hearts to receive God’s truth and a stirring of faith and a deep, personal connection with Jesus
  • Growth of godly friendships and unity among Heritage Students
  • Life transformation and lasting impact

Kids Camp

Please be in prayer for our Kids Camp July 20-25. Please Pray for:

  • Protection and safety
  • Opportunities for gospel conversations with the children
  • Counselors and staff to abide in Jesus
  • Long-lasting relationships to be formed
  • Kids to have fun and be encouraged in their joy in Jesus!

Heritage Students Short-Term Ministry Trips

Local STMT

  • Date: June 8th-12th
  • Our junior high students will have the opportunity to serve our church and serve the LYH community.
  • Our hope is to serve with a few local organizations: Parkview, World Help, and Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center.
  • We will seek out opportunities to be a blessing to some of our church body and church staff. It’s a great way to give our teens a taste of what our domestic or international trips would look like.

Detroit STMT

  • Team of 15 teens and six leaders coming alongside Global Gates, a ministry in strategic cities in the U.S. with high populations of refugees from unreached nations.
  • The team will serve alongside global workers from this organization in the Detroit area to come alongside them in ministry efforts and see how God is working among the unreached in the U.S.
  • Dates: July 13-21
  • Please be praying for this team as they seek to “live the gospel life among the nations” together this summer in Detroit!

Alaska STMT

  • Ministry Date: July 13-22
  • Ministry Team: 27 Senior High Students and 8 Leaders from HBC!
  • Ministry Itinerary: Serving and serving with Mountain City Church, Downtown Hope, SEND North and other Gospel-minded organizations to show and share Jesus with the people of Anchorage
  • Ministry Goals: To love and appreciate the work God is doing in Alaska, to love the people of our United States in a different context, and to come together as a team to make much of Jesus in all contexts we walk into.

A Summer of Prayer

Paul’s admonition is not just a simple call to prayerfulness, but a direct call to fervently plead to God on behalf of “all the saints” and for his work as an apostle. This is prayer that is “at all times in the Spirit.” It’s both consistent and authoritative, unending and powerful. This is a prayerfulness that has an eye on the enemy’s schemes while also having its feet planted in the truth.

Do we pray like that for one another?

Elder Prayer Update

As we continue to lift up the needs of our church community, we want to take a moment to focus our prayers on our elders. These faithful leaders carry the weight of shepherding, teaching, and caring for the spiritual well-being of others, often while navigating personal challenges of their own. Praying for our elders is vital—not only for their strength, wisdom, and protection, but also to encourage and support them as they lead with humility and faith. Let’s come together to intercede on their behalf, trusting God to refresh and sustain them in every season.
