We are pleased to announce that our next “Men of Heritage Conference” will be held April 19-21, 2024 at the beautiful Caraway Conference Center in Sophia, North Carolina!
This year as “Men of Heritage,” we have made it our mission to, “Abide Deeply, Lead Faithfully, Pursue Biblical Community, and Embrace the Mission.”
We pursue such a mission, in order to be “men who reject passivity as we embrace biblical responsibility” and men who “lead courageously as we invest eternally.” This, as with every other Christian pursuit, is so that Christ will be glorified in us (1 Thess. 1:10-12).
In order to live out this mission, we must be grounded in a firm understanding of who God is and what he has done for us in Christ. The apostle Paul prayed that the Church in Ephesus would have such an understanding.
“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:14-19).”
Ultimately, Paul desires this church to “know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge” and that they would “be filled with all the fullness of God (v. 19)”. This cannot happen unless they are strengthened by the Spirit to be “rooted and grounded in love (v.17)”. Being “rooted” is necessary if we as “Men of Heritage” are ever going to “abide deeply, lead faithfully, pursue biblical community, and embrace the mission.”
Thus, join your brothers at our next Conference in learning how to be “rooted and grounded in love,” so that we might “have the strength to comprehend” the fullness of God’s love for us in Christ Jesus and to allow such a love to infiltrate and transform every aspect of our lives.
