Youth Tomorrow Night

Tomorrow night, we will finish our short series we began last week (“Bridges”). This week we will focus on how to cross that bridge (the destination again being Christ), specifically looking at the various disciplines that help us grow in our understanding and walk with Christ. We will look specifically at the Word of Life scholarship, the various components of it, with this thought in mind: Discipleship is rooted in relationship. Pastor Nathan will be walking through the disciplines and bringing it back to this question: how does my union with Christ impact my following Him in this area? The hope is that this will in many ways repurpose our view of scholarship, and take it beyond a “check the box” that it so often seems to feel like.

Some questions for group time include:
  • Have you ever fallen into a “check the box” mentality? What circumstances led to that (lack of time, energy, etc.)?
  • Why is understanding who we are in Christ so significant for daily living (not only saying “no” to sin but also saying “yes” to growth in godliness via the disciplines)?
  • Which spiritual discipline in the Word of Life scholarship are you most excited about this year? Which one intimidates you the most?
